Harwood Boosters Club

Our Mission

The Harwood Booster Club is a group of Parents, Students, Administrators and Staff working together to support all co-curricular and extracurricular activities at Harwood Union High School to enhance our students’ learning experience. We will promote enthusiastic participation to strengthen our programs and create an environment where all students will thrive.


Harwood Boosters Meetings

The Harwood Boosters normally meet every two weeks on Mondays at 7:30pm via Zoom.   The next meeting is Monday, May 6.   The agenda will be posted here prior to the meeting. All members of the Harwood Community are invited to attend and participate. For more information email us

History

Started in 1985, The Boosters Club has gone through many different phases of activity. Working together with Parents, Students, Administrators and Staff, the Booster Club looks forward to securing funds for things like Scoreboards, Field Improvements, Scholarships, and to support other projects the school community sees as a need to enhance our Students' learning experience.
 

Current and Past Supports:

  • Three Acedemic scholarships for any graduation student each year - ongoing
  • Athlete sponsorships - ongoing
  • Flowers for FH - ongoing
  • $100 share for organization participating in concessions - ongoing
  • Banners for the gym - ongoing
  • Basketball programs/schedules
  • Varsity Letters for Athletes
  • Sports Banquet in the spring for Varsity Athletes

  • Mike Systems

  • Treadmill for weight room

Current and past fundraising efforts

  • Concessions - Booth for basketball and outdoor cart for fall and spring sports - ongoing
  • Leaf Peepers - Collaboration with Central Vermont Runners - ongoing
  • Fall Fashion Show, ski shops
  • Spring Auction with local business donations
  • Booster Baskets - each team or club makes baskets with donated items then they auctioned off, usually around the holidays - no business donations
  • Donkey Basketball event
  • Decals/Bumper stickers
  • Spaghetti Dinners - before bball games
 

Process

The Club is a non-profit 501c3 organization that will utilize both grant opportunities and fundraising activities to follow its mission and guiding principal by:

  • Raising funds to be disbursed through the Harwood Activities Club for various co-curricular programs in accordance with Harwood Union High School policies.

  • Institute and fund a program in which scholarships will be available to graduating seniors for continuing their education through an application process that is fair and unbiased in any way.

  • Promote student enthusiasm and attendance for all co-curricular activities at Harwood establishing heartfelt school spirit and pride.

  • Develop an organization that embeds recruitment and retention of Members for continued success for years to come to include Parents, Students, staff and the community at large.
